What was your first contact with Page and what made you decide to join the team??

I applied for the job while in Perth and had a virtual interview, with plans to move back to KL for good. From the very first conversation, I felt at ease—the interview process was welcoming, and it was clear that the team had a strong, supportive culture. On top of that, Michael Page’s reputation as a leading global brand made it an easy decision for me to join.

How have you grown with PageGroup?

I started with Michael Page 12 years ago as an Associate Consultant, a returning Malaysian from Perth. Over the years, I have been promoted five times and have grown both personally and professionally, consistently taking on greater responsibilities and challenges. From my initial role, I quickly gained valuable insights into recruitment, built strong relationships with clients, and developed my leadership skills. As I progressed, I deepened my understanding of the market, managed high-performing teams, and contributed to strategic initiatives that drove business growth. Each promotion has provided me with opportunities to expand my expertise, enhance my problem-solving abilities, and become a more effective leader and mentor.

What is the most rewarding part of the job?

The most rewarding part of my job is the ability to continue making an impact on my candidates' lives. Recruiting has always been about helping people take the next step in their careers, and there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing a candidate land a role that truly changes their life. As I’ve progressed into leadership, I’ve found even greater satisfaction in seeing my team grow and thrive. Watching them push themselves beyond their comfort zones, take on new challenges, and reach milestones they didn’t think were possible is incredibly fulfilling. I’m passionate about mentoring and guiding my team, helping them unlock their potential, and pushing them to achieve greater things. It’s not just about the numbers or hitting targets; it’s about cultivating an environment where people feel empowered to grow, learn, and succeed together. Knowing that I’m contributing to their professional development and seeing them flourish is what truly drives me today.

What is the best thing about working at Page?

The best part about working here has always been the culture. Over the past 12 years, I’ve witnessed many people come and go, but the strong sense of community has remained constant. What's even more special is that there are seven of us who started the same year, and it’s been amazing to grow together alongside such a fantastic leadership team. Joining Michael Page was one of the best decisions I've made, and I’ve never looked back. I’ll always be grateful to Paul Cooper for giving me the chance to be part of this incredible journey — it’s a decision that has shaped my career in ways I never imagined.
