"I still remember the day I received the call from Michael Page. I was working in a café when the call came in, and the Director arranged a face-to-face meeting. I attended the interview thinking I was interviewing for a sales position, but the Director pitched the role of a Recruitment Consultant instead. I was attracted by the progression and rewards, and of course, the way the role was pitched to me. The rest is history."

How have you grown with PageGroup?

I’ve been with the business for 11.5 years now. I started as an Associate Consultant back in 2013, recruiting for Finance & Accounting roles, and now I’m a Director leading our Sales & Technical disciplines. Besides linear progression, I’ve had multiple rotations within the business, which have given me the opportunity to learn about different functions and industries, as well as the exposure to inherit teams, turn around businesses, and even rebuild teams from scratch. I’ve gone from recruiting Finance & Accounting to Engineering, then Supply Chain, and subsequently Sales.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Besides the variable income and performance-based progression, having the opportunity to develop and pave the way for your team members and seeing them progress over the years has been something I truly enjoy and find rewarding.

What is the best thing about working for PageGroup?

Most people feel that recruitment is a very stressful sales job because you're not only dealing with clients on a daily basis, but you're also pitching opportunities to candidates. Having to deal with rejections from both sides can be tiring, but the culture we've built at PageGroup and the support I receive from the people around me- my leadership team, my peers, and my team—make going to work a fun experience.
